Musings .4 Seasons Change (Inspired by a couple lines from John Mayer's Something's Missing)

Autumn comes;
It doesn't ask
Love walks in,
Where it left you last
And all those broken promises
And all the whispered secrets
Are scattered like October leaves
Crisp, crunchy, easy to break.
Winter hides,
Beneath a shard of ice.
Love is frozen
Giving time a new disguise.
For every stolen moment
And every stolen kiss
Disappears like little flurries
That you can barely taste on your tongue.
Spring brings
Fresh air, fresh color, fresh blooms.
Love chases,
Dispelling all gloom.
Holding hands, dreamy gazes
Go on for hours on end
Time has no meaning here.
Time stands still for love.
Summer's heat
Is felt in every hot breath
Love takes you back
To when you first met.
The thunderstorms and rainy showers.
Were crosses you bore with unconscious pride
Now forever gone
Because love is here to stay.

  1. The four seasons (and weather and nature in general) are such powerful inspiration for poetry. I really like this one!

  2. Wow, a great poetry. Crisp, crunchy, easy to break--- such a vivid imagery on it.
